For all you movie buffs out there, the University of California, Irvine, will be hosting a question and answer session tomorrow (Thursday) night with Zach Helm, the talented new screenwriter who wrote the screenplay for the acclaimed Stranger than Fiction.

It's my understanding that UCI will be showing the entire 113 minute film, and that the Q&A session with Zach Helm will follow immediately after. If you haven't had the chance to see Stranger than Fiction on the big screen, I highly recommend attending. If you're a big fan of the movie, as Cat and I are, this is an event you won't want to miss.
From UCI:
Stranger Than Fiction. Directed by Marc Forster. Award-winning screenwriter Zach Helm will appear in person for Q&A session. (USA, 2006, 113 min.) 7 p.m., Humanities Instructional Building, Lucille Kuehn Auditorium (Room 100). $3-$5. More: 949.824.7418 or fvc@uci.edu.

Oh yeah. What does this have to do with food? Maggie Gyllenhaal plays spunky baker Pascal opposite Will Ferrell's endearing portrayal of IRS agent Harold Crick. There are good bits about flour, Bavarian cream, bread, cookies, and other baked goods scattered throughout the film. Pascal's bakery and the food she produces can be considered minor, ancillary characters that give the film a certain, organic richness that contrasts with the antiseptic harshness of Harold's life as a civil servant.
Come to the event! Watch the film!
