I think you got the ROI grade exactly right. ;-) Personally, yakiniku is almost the only Japanese cuisine I don't eat, because I just don't see spending so much more over the original Korean barbecue. Much better ROI there.

Yeah. Gyu-Kaku isn't really worth it. I may go back for a small subset of certain items, but on a whole, I thought it was another one of those places where substance trumps style.

Whoa, 800 locations. I didn't know that Gyu-Kaku was a superchain. Beef tongue is definitely my favorite part to eat when eating at an izakaya/robatayaki joint. I know what you mean by the sausages... i think i only got 2 links at the Shin Sen Gumi Gardena location... and it tasted just like Farmer John. Nice post and q'ing tips. See you saturday CP.

Mmmm, did I ever tell you how much I love you're Super Posts? They need to be done more often! Too bad they screwed up the mushrooms medley. Like your friends, I love Enoki Mushrooms too and usually would order extra ones. The best, however, is Enoki Mushrooms with a Manila Clam - both wrapped in aluminum foil and grilled over fire. Soooo good, Panda, you will have to try the next time you have a BBQ party!
